New Flight Route from Yantai To Kuala Lumpur to Boost Tourist Traffic
Malaysia marked a significant achievement in its tourism sector with the launch of a new flight route by China Eastern Airlines, connecting Yantai to Kuala Lumpur. The inaugural flight was warmly welcomed by YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, along with representatives from Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB). Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the aircraft received a ceremonial water salute, highlighting the strong relationship between the two locations.
Operating twice a week with an Airbus A320 that carries 152 passengers, this new route is expected to boost tourist traffic and enhance bilateral relations between Malaysia and China. Since the introduction of the visa-free policy for Chinese travellers in December 2023, Malaysia has seen a 194% increase in tourist arrivals from China, reaching 1,185,050 visitors by May 2024. Tourism Malaysia is committed to partnering with international airlines to further increase travel demand from China and attract more visitors from various cities.
